Part 1 Planning almost Complete; now onto Part 2 of 3

Marital Counseling
Enjoyed may be too strong a word but I am glad that we are attending the classes.  Last Saturday was our first 8a to 4:30p counseling session at St. Joseph’s and we’ll have another this next Saturday all day.  Next week, we’ll be discussing s-e-x, but since its at a church, I doubt it will be rated X.  This week I learned Shea’s love language and confirmed that my love language is “acts of service.”  The counseling was interesting and full of good advice.  The couple teaching us had several funny examples of what toDO and NOT toDO.

Bridesmaids
The bridesmaids have all been measured and the dresses have been ordered.  Yea, Josie, mother of the flowergirl, also found a pretty ivory dress for Amelia so all we’ll have to do is buy a sash in plum purple to go around her waist, SWEET!  There was mutiny when the issue of hair was raised…up or down was discussed.  You’ll have to wait to see how it turned out, cause I’m not telling or maybe I just don’t know, ha.  We are (ok Rose is) now on the hunt for silver sandals.  Good Luck Rose!

Mother of the Bride Dress
Mom, Rose and I went to Northpark to see if Mom liked any of the “mother of the bride” dresses.  She tried on several and there were a few that she liked but nothing she couldn’t live without… At least she found some dresses she actually liked.  When Rose and I drug her out of her home kicking and struggling, she was of the opinion she’d hate everything she tried on. lol

Bridal Shoes
When I tried on my wedding dress I saw a pair of shoes I really liked but they didn’t have any in my size…so this Saturday we drove to South Arlington to try on a pair of the same shoes. Rose was emphatic that my feet looked horrible in the shoes and I had to agree; they were loose and my toes kinda hung out the sides, bummer because it wasn’t the shoes fault .  While at Northpark on our way to Norstrom, I saw a pair of ivory shoes and veered in dragging Mom and Rose along with me.  They too loved the shoes so I tried on a pair…Rose recommended!  They fit like a dream.  But for the cost, I’d own them right now.  Seems we’d wondered into the Oscar Dela Renta salon.  Here’s the website to the shoes.  Aren’t they gorgeous.  Only $675.00.  Choke.
http://www.oscardelarenta.com/?folderId=/shoponline/bridal/accessories#styleNumber=4890-34b&.  Ya I found a pair at zappos.com for a lot lot lot lot lot less.  Hopefully these work or I’ll be returning them and trying again.

Planning the Ceremony at St. Joseph’s
We met with the sacramental coordinator at St. Joseph’s.  Its great, St. Joseph’s provides the candles, the stands and lots more so we don’t have to rent anything.  We’ll just need to bring in the flowers, a couple of table cloths and a few decorations for the narthex.  Our wedding coordinators at the church take care of the rest and hold our hands until we walk down the isle.  It was a relief talking to her because everything seemed to fit into place.

Music for the Ceremony
We’ve got a surprise for you with the music.  I’d give you a hint but you’d guess and then where would the fun be in that.  Anyway, after our marital counseling, we visited with St. Joseph’s music minister last Saturday.  She will play the organ and piano and sing for us during the ceremony.  Music is now checked off our list.  Yea!  Except for providing the DJ a list of songs that is but we’ve got like 4 months to do that.  We also got to see a wedding that started at 7:00p.m. or I should say “should have started at 7:00p.m.”  It actually didn’t start until closer to 7:30p.m. because the priest was missing in action.  Rumor was he got caught in “Traffic.”  Ya, I would say that would be a stressor!  Still the wedding looked quite pretty and with minimal decorations.

Next on the list of things to do.
Shea and I need to address those invitations and hang some curtains!
